One of the more marvelous aspects of being a member of the Mieco Beach Yacht Club is that you can use your card to gain entry to the world’s yacht clubs, including the friendly Waikiki Yacht Club in Honolulu, Hawaii. Just across the way from the Ala Moana shopping center, the WYC has a great bar that looks out over the club’s marina and well-appointed dining tables both inside and outside on the patio.

Vice Commodore Cary Evarts and I  were recently in Honolulu for a week, so we stopped by the club and met James, their ‘look after everything’ guy. He organized a week’s guest pass that comes as a piece of card the size of a business card. Over the week we stopped by a couple of times for dinner, happily with long-time club member Natalie Nimmer in tow as our guest.

We ask all Mieco Beach Yacht Club members to use their cards at the world’s yacht clubs: We’ve never heard of anyone being rejected! But if this is the case, please let us know and we’ll communicate with that club to sort out a reciprocal deal.
